This summer, we are pleased to announce that we will be accepting registration for kids ages 7-10 to come spend a day out on the water learning to sail with us at SBYC. The day will be focused on getting the kids comfortable with being out on the water, and giving them a little taste of what it is like to be a part of the Sargent’s Bay Sailing Club community.

Frequently asked questions: Do I need to be a member of the sailing club to have my children registered? No, you do not need to be a member to enroll your children in the Learn to Sail program at SBYC.
My child has never sailed before, is it safe for them to be a part of this program? Yes, we will be having experienced sailors be in the boat with your children while on the water. All our coaches are trained the federation de voile du Quebec and have experience dealing with new sailors.
What must my child bring to the club?
Lifejacket or personal flotation device!
Please ensure that this device is certified by Transport Canada and fits your child correctly. If you have any questions or do not have a lifejacket please contact our head coach Malich Altman.
Closed toed shoes
Water shoes are amazing, running shoes will do.
Plenty of water
Change of clothes
What should my child wear? Obviously, it is important to ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. If it is cold we highly recommend wearing a wet suit, these can be bought at Canadian Tire and are very useful. However, if it is warm, most kids are comfortable in a bathing suit and a water shirt.
