Overview
If sailors want to take their skills to the next level, they are highly encouraged to join the SBYC racing program. It prepares keen sailors for the thrill and challenge of regattas, while promoting hard work and team bonding. Sailors are encouraged to register for a month or more of camp to experience as much training, theory and racing as possible. Whether they are interested in competing in International regattas or at local events, we offer many exciting opportunities for our athletes to compete. The SBYC racing program is ideal for sailors looking for fun, challenge, and camaraderie. By spending more time on the water and acquiring a deeper level of knowledge, racers can experience the joys of competitive and advanced sailing throughout their entire lives.
Sailor CommitmentsSailors should try to commit at least 4 weeks of their summer to the racing program, and to whatever races are available during their weeks of registration. They are also expected to show up consistently Monday through Friday, and do their very best to make it to Sunday races at SBYC.

Parent CommitmentsWe ask that all parents with sailors attending regattas make some contribution to making these events happen. This can range from preparing meals for the team, to hauling boats to and from the regatta location. Further details are provided once organizing the logistics begins.

Regattas and EventsThese races are always summer highlights, no matter what the results. For them to happen, lodging, food, and transportation are key items that the club is thankful to parents for in their help.
Further details will be provided in emails to those registered for the racing program. More information on the regattas below |
